INS-Seat Ballast retaining nut seat, to match INS-030, Made of brass to resist wear. This is a brass seat or housing for the ballast retaining nut that we use to attach removable ballasts to fins.
Often the counterbored hole in the ballast becomes misshaped with use and the nut does not seat properly thus preventing the ballast from being properly tightened onto the fin. Setting this brass seat into the ballast prevents that. It will be used as a standard part when we prepare a fin for a removable ballast and can be fitted to existing ballasts if they need to be made good.
